Afterward, we headed somewhere that holds even more meaning—their favorite gay dive bar, Liberty Lounge. This part of the session was playful, unapologetic, and full of personality. Neon lights, worn-in textures, and candid movement gave the photos an edge while still feeling deeply romantic.
This is where documentary photography really shines. Instead of recreating moments, we simply captured them as they unfolded. Their joy felt contagious, and the images reflect that energy effortlessly.
Ending at the Local Courthouse
To close out the evening, we walked over to the local courthouse. The architecture added a quiet contrast to the earlier locations, bringing in a sense of permanence and intention. Courthouse steps, winter air, and fading daylight created a cinematic ending to the session.
As the light dropped, the images shifted into something softer and more reflective. It was the perfect way to wrap up a session that balanced mood, romance, and real life so beautifully.
